3rd “Cyber Security Weekend” Initiative by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Focusing on the Health Sector
With the aim of informing and raising awareness among businesses in the healthcare sector on cybersecurity issues, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) held the 3rd “Cyber Security Weekend” on November 8-9, 2024, in Ayia Napa, in collaboration with the Digital Security Authority (DSA).
The healthcare sector is at the forefront of technological advancements, with digitalization and the implementation of data networks and systems offering significant potential for service improvement. However, these opportunities also bring substantial challenges. Cyberattacks and threats to healthcare networks are on the rise, jeopardizing not only data integrity but also patient safety.
The Cyber Security Weekend was attended by executives from the management and technical teams of 10 companies. Participants were thoroughly briefed on the requirements of the new NIS2 Directive, which establishes a stricter framework for the security of networks and information systems. This directive is especially important for the healthcare sector, as organizations within it are called to implement protective measures and be prepared to address threats.
